AUTOMATED GATES

Installing electric / automated gate systems ensures that your property remains protected and private at all times.

Installed in conjunction with our quality gates, these installations not only offer ease of use but will also enhance the look and value of your property.

Automated gates are typically controlled remotely from your vehicle, with the option of being able to access the property via a
Keypad and/or intercom system from the gate side.

Once the gate is automated, safety is of paramount importance with provisions taken to ensure the working area of the gate entrance is protected at all times. This is done by the installation of safety beams and other accessories.

Sjb offer a bespoke service where each of our products can be customized to suit your requirements and needs.

Please view the sample videos below, showing previous installations on how gates can be automated.

SWING GATES

BELOW GROUND MOTOR
"THE FROG"

ABOVE GROUND MOTOR
"THE ARM"

The swing gate, whether automated or not is by far the most common way of installing gates.

Automating swing gates can be done using two different types of motor. The more popular choice because of its strength and operational benefits is the unit that is housed below ground and adequately nicknamed “the frog”. This motor is designed to operate in damp harsh conditions and once fitted doesn’t detract from the overall aesthetics of the gates.

The above ground motor sometimes known as the “arm” is typically installed to existing gates, providing a cost effective method of gate automation.

In a quick and simple installation the armateur is fixed to the gate and gate pillar or post.

SLIDING GATES

Cantilevered Sliding Gate
"No Track Required"

Tracked Sliding Gate

Sliding Gates offer a practical solution to where a normally hung swing gate may produce an obstacle to a turning vehicle and/or limit car parking space.

The Cantilevered and Tracked Gate systems shown above demonstrate how sliding gates can be installed.

Initially, all sliding gates used to be installed on a track that runs along the gate entrance, known as the “tracked gate”. However with new technology, the option of sliding a gate can now be achieved by means of cantilevering.

With “no track required” installed across the gate entrance, groundwork and disruption of the driveway are kept to a minimum. Along with other benefits, this results in the “cantilevered sliding gate” being the much preferred option.
